Megan Thee Stallion is not telling Ariana Grande, “we can’t be friends.” The rapper said she’s excited to work with Grande again after the success of their “34+35” version.
When Meg was asked to name her dream singing partner in a game of “Truth or Wear” for Who What Wear (on whose cover she was on May 19), she knew right away. The Houston Hottie said, “I think I would have to say Ariana Grande.”
“We worked together once, but it’s different now that I’m into music and other things, and I feel like she’s into her life and music too,” she said. “I’d really like to see what we can do now.”
About four years have passed since Thee Stallion and the Wicked star worked together on a project. That time, they remixed Grande’s Positions song “34 + 35” with Doja Cat. The song got to No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 after the two singers added to it.
Since then, Meg and the “Yes, And?” singer have been close. Grande wrote, “I adore @theestallion” on Instagram last year after the hip-hop star stressed how important it was to vote in the presidential race in her Billboard cover story.
Meg returned the love for WWW by calling Grande “that’s my girl, that’s my queen” and then getting things going. The pop star of “HISS” spoke into the camera and said, “Ariana!” “Please call me.”
The interview comes after Thee Stallion’s new song, “Whenever,” came out at the end of April. She also showed off her new costume line with Walmart this week.
However, the last few days have also brought some bad news for the “Savage” spitfire: rappers like Drake and Ye have started calling for the release of Tory Lanez, who was sentenced to 10 years in prison after being found guilty in December 2022 of shooting Meg in the foot three years earlier. Lanez’s lawyers say new evidence has come to light that proves he wasn’t the one who shot her. On Monday, May 19, Meg replied on TikTok, “Ain’t no new f–king proof; you guys have been saying the same s–t for years…” Please leave me alone, Tory. You’re a f–king monster.
